BlackBerry app summary for June 19, 2015

Hello CrackBerry Nation! Hope you are all excited not only for the coming weekend but also for news and events around the BlackBerry world this week. Not to mention our selection of apps and games, but we’ll get to that later. A little news that hit the blog this week is the deployment of OS 10.3.2 for US operators. Verizon’s support site says the update is coming for all of their BB10 and Classic devices right now, while T-Mobile started rolling out the update to Classic devices on June 17. If you’re on AT&T with a Z10 or Q10, these updates have started with other devices to follow soon as well. Plus, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out our White BlackBerry Classic unbox.

Finally, for those of you in the continental US, be sure to take advantage of ShopCrackBerry’s Father’s Day Sale. Until Sunday June 21, they are offering 20% off all BlackBerry accessories by entering the coupon code shown on the message at checkout.

Now is the time to introduce you to this week’s picks for all your BlackBerry enthusiasts. You can find every app and game I’ve created for you by clicking on the gallery below. If your favorite was missed this week, remember that you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Autodesk Sketchbook by Autodesk Inc.

Autodesk Sketchbook

As many of you will quickly point out in the comments, we’ve already been introduced to a few sketching apps. However, I like having options, especially when each one brings something different to the table. Autodesk Sketchbook is one such application. Dubbed a professional-grade painting and drawing app, this is a mobile version of their desktop counterpart. It offers a smooth experience and an extremely easy to use interface. Whether you want to jot down or jot down ideas, the entire screen is your canvas. The top of the screen is where the settings are placed but they don’t interfere with your designs. If they do, there is a button to remove all buttons except one. There are over 10 pre-designed brushes, including pencils, pens and markers, a color picker, and a link to deviantART for further inspiration. While downloadable for free from the Amazon Appstore, they include a link to their store to upgrade to the Pro version for $ 3.99. Here you will find additional tools, gradients, layers, colors, smudges and synthetic brushes to create different textures.

BBM Beta Update for BlackBerry 10 Brings ‘Private Chat’ and Quote Message Features

BBM beta for updated BB10

This week, the latest beta of BBM became available for download in the BlackBerry beta area for those participating in the program. The update brought new private chat features, the ability to order sticker packs and customize the sticker packs you see in the picker, and the ability to reference and reply to a previous post in your cat. Please note that some features like quote message will only work with other BBM beta users. As this is the BlackBerry Beta area, be sure to provide your feedback before the release goes official.
