BlackBerry app summary for June 20, 2014

Hello CrackBerry Nation. From partnering with Amazon to bring you Android apps for BlackBerry 10.3 and launching BBM Protected at the annual shareholders meeting and earnings call, it has certainly been a busy week for BlackBerry. Not to mention that they showed two BlackBerry devices. I can’t decide which one to expect the most, the BlackBerry Classic or the BlackBerry Passport.

We all know you’re here to see what this week’s picks are, so let’s get back to the show, okay. Each application or game can be viewed by clicking on the gallery. If your favorite was missed this week, remember that you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Sound shortcuts by Toysoft Development

Personally, I like having shortcuts to frequently used functions on my device. Toysoft decided to do this to create your own sound profiles. Rather than going into settings, simply assign the in-app notification profile to your specifications and save the shortcut to your home screen. Users can set the notification sound (Silent, Vibrate, Normal, Phone only, or All alerts off), create a name for the icon, set the LED, Sound, Vibrate and Live preview options, adjust the volume and assign an icon among the 94 images included. Using this method, there is a plethora of combinations that can be created. For the shortcuts to work properly, the app will need to be left installed on your device. However, the shortcuts can be removed like any other application. Sound Shortcuts is available for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones for $ 0.99. It requests permission from Contol, BBM and Shared Files Notifications.

360 Photo Effects by BK Soft

Photography is a hobby of mine and a lot of my SD card is filled with images taken with all of my cameras over the years. Another editing tool appeared in the storefront, so of course it wasn’t obvious to me to check it out. It contains basic and precise tools that offer a variety of effects, filters, color and text tools, frames and additional enhancement features. This is an Android port, but I haven’t encountered any issues with it so far. Filters and effects apply quickly and there is a wide range to choose from. There are over 150 filters, 200 special effects, and the ability to create free-form collages (as demonstrated above), stickers, photo editing tools, customizable text frames and more at your fingertips. . It supports BlackBerry 10 and costs just $ 0.99 to purchase.

CarManager by KQSoft Inc.

Summer is upon us and for many that means you’ll hit the road on a trip. This app allows you to track your fuel, maintenance and payment costs. In addition to supporting multiple vehicles, transactions can also be synced via NFC to combine spending on a single device. Standard features include exporting to a CSV file to send via email or other BlackBerry framework method, importing data, sorting transactions by date, backing up / restoring database, and taking support for multiple currencies. What individual users will find appealing about this app is the report functionality. Here you can see your usage and spending over time, all neatly presented in a pie, bar, or line chart. With the increase in gas costs, especially during this time of year, there’s nothing wrong with saving how much you use and costs. CarManager is a native app, designed for BlackBerry, that you can grab for $ 0.99. It asks for permission from camera, BBM and shared files.

“Love Talkies with the color purple” by Themerzz

With the BlackBerry Bold 9900 back in production, I felt compelled to include a theme this week. I missed having themes on my device and had become quite addicted to them on Legacy. This last one from Themerzz is charming while being minimal to showcase your wallpapers. It offers bright and pleasing colors, an original icon set that looks like OS 10.3, custom indicators and fonts, semi-transparent menus, and of course a very clean and balanced display. This theme supports OS 5, 6 and 7 / 7.1 devices and costs $ 0.99.

Sudoku Epic by Kristanix Studios AS

Considering that I was completely wowed by their Mahjong Solitaire Epic game, it’s no surprise that I was also impressed with their follow-up title. As a fan of the simple puzzle game, this version offers five different Sudoku games in one with different degrees of difficulty to choose from. There is the regular 9×9, 6×6 mini grid, Wordoku, Killer Sudoku and daily Sudoku challenges. I recommend the Wordoku (Letter) because I find it much more difficult to solve than the digital version. It’s a great way to exercise your brain and free to download for BlackBerry 10 phones. However, the full premium version can be unlocked through an in-app purchase for $ 2.95. The great thing about the premium version is that it removes ads and includes hundreds of new games.

Pro Backup by Sasha Kanthan

I’ve always been a fan of cutting the cord so to speak with devices and using alternative means to back up my BlackBerry without always having to be near a computer. Backup Pro is a complete utility tool to do just that. Using Box, Dropbox, Device or SD card memory, it will backup and restore BlackBerry data set including calendar entries, camera, contacts, documents, downloads, music and files. videos. I always like to keep secondary backups of my data in case the primary one on my PC goes missing, so this utility app is a handy tool to keep. However, you need to be careful with your data plan, unless you are using WiFi, and how much storage space you have on your cloud services and SD card. Backup Pro costs $ 4.99 for all BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
