BlackBerry app summary for September 11, 2015

Hello CrackBerry Nation! It’s been a busy week and not just because the kids are back to school and everyone is back to work. But enough of my post-vacation woes, it’s time to update you on what has happened since our last outing. BBM’s latest beta has brought it several new features, including the all-new BBM Sticker Club, BlackBerry OS 10.32.2639 has started rolling out across multiple regions and devices, John Chen will be speaking at Code / Mobile in October, and there was another edition of the BerryFlow Upstream podcast.

Now is the time to introduce you to this week’s picks for all your BlackBerry enthusiasts. You can find every app and game I’ve created for you by clicking on the gallery below. If your favorite was missed this week, remember that you can help by offering your suggestions at the end.

Advanced Tic Tac Toe – Online Multiplayer Game by FincoApps

Advanced Tic Tac Toe

While browsing the app announcement forums, I came across an article about our first game. We all know about this simple game that we used to grow up to, but a BlackBerry developer decided to add that extra twist to it. Rather than competing for three, players are now asked to connect 5x or o in a row on a grid. The game is pretty straightforward when it comes to graphics, but it does offer the option to play with other players online. Additionally, players can play against the computer, adjust AI difficulty, and load a saved game. This native game is free to download from BlackBerry World.

Slydris by Radiangames

While walking through the Amazon Underground, I came across Slydris. This addicting puzzle is free on the subway, as it normally costs $ 1.99. As someone who grew up addicted to Tetris, launching my passport and downloading this game was a no-brainer. The principle is simple, but it is not an easy task to accomplish. Your objective is to drag the falling blocks from the top to create full rows of blocks at the bottom to clear them. Players can create combos, create a single-color row for a burst, and even use other special blocks (including bombs) to enhance gameplay. There are three modes to choose from: Infinity, Zen Mode, and Survival. Just clear 25 lines to go to the next level. You can find it in the Amazon Underground app.

KeepTrack Pro by Zagalaga

KeepTrack Pro

On another search of Amazon Underground (normally priced at $ 1.99) I came across this simple yet flexible tool to track just about anything you can think of. Whether you want to track your weight, exercise, books read, medication, coffee amount, or any other kind of information, you can all use this app. It is designed to track numeric values, text, yes / no questions, mark specific times, preset values, and duration. Once a tracker is created, you can set an initial and default value, set a goal value, and enter units and increments. What I find interesting is what happens once you start tracking. KeepTrack Pro creates reports based on your entries. You can view the results as a list or as a graph, which is a good way to visualize your progress. There is also a statistics page for even more detailed information. You can download it for free, at the time of this article, in the Amazon Underground app.
