Research In Motion (RIM) launched a new version of its app store, BlackBerry App World, last week. However, for unknown reasons, the Canadian company has not rolled out the updated app to all regions.
BlackBerry App World 188.8.131.52 was only available for manual download and BlackBerry users had to remove the beta version installed on their smartphones.
The folks at CrackBerry report that the latest version of BlackBerry App World 184.108.40.206 is back online and does not require removing the previous beta from the. application.
With the latest version of BlackBerry App World, users will be able to take advantage of several new features, listed below:
“- Possibility to permanently remove applications from My World – Users can permanently remove applications from My World – Possibility to reinstall all applications from My World – Users will have the option to reinstall all applications from My World – Automatic search in My World – Automatic Find will make it easier for users to search and find applications in My World.
In addition, the App World application is now integrated with BlackBerry Commerce payment services for credit card and PayPal purchases.
For those new to BlackBerry Commerce, this is a payment service that handles all credit card and PayPal purchases and transactions made on BlackBerry App World 4.0.
The integration of the NFC tag has also been added, which will allow users to exchange the lists of applications. SMS authentication is another new feature included in the latest version of The world of BlackBerry apps. This will allow operator billing to work for some operators switching from WAP to SMS.
Last but not least, users will now have the option to delete ringtones when they receive a gift / begging. BlackBerry App World 220.127.116.11 is now available for free download through App World and should be fully compatible with all devices running BlackBerry OS 4.2 and later.
